CaptC
Blade marked on one side - G Butler with the key trademark on the reverse there is the date 1944 with the WD stamp. The blade measures 10" long. The blade has been very lightly cleaned (no abrasives used) Some very light rust still on the blade easily removed. Bakelite grips with original lanyard clip with some marks to the grips. The blade folds, they were infamous for being hard to shut! Alas the blade protector is missing. These machetes were issued to RAF crews in WW2 and this is a copy of the Camillus knife used by US forces. A quite rare find! £55 posted thanks Edited July 14, 2020 by CaptC

CaptC
Thanks Ditchie - I have had WW2 machete's in the past but not a "folder". Apparently they were strapped to the pilot's chest for easy access if they (forgive the word) ditched.
Westley
Gave an identical one to a young shooter last year.
CaptC
Did it have it's blade protector? A great knife for clearing brambles!
Westley
No, it was just the same as the one pictured, I have had it for 50 years or more. Used it for hide building and brashing around the hide. If I see him, I shall ask him to photograph it for me.
