Columbus Polumbus
Any air rifle with power in excess of 12ft/lb is classed as a firearm and therefore will attract the same rules as any other rifle. All that info and in the queens english toboot!!
Columbus Polumbus
As opposed to increasing your range Antwood, why not try improving your fieldcraft skills, its cheaper and a lot more fulfilling.

Magpies are gay
A bum, how far away are the wabbits? What ft/lbs you using? Any way, What age do you have to be to get a FAC?
Hammergun
There is no age restriction on getting a FAC, but I think you must be 15 before you can use a firearm without being accompanied by an adult over 21. Why bother with a FAC airgun? If you go for a FAC you might as well get a .22 rimfire. You can get a reasonable second hand .22 rimfire rifle for under £100. Magpies are gay
And its ALOT cheeper, It cost like £400-£700 for a pre-charged FAC, And a rimmy is only about £100, and if you get some decent mounts for it! Will be alot more accurate aswell prob! I just read on the FAC form thing, you have to be 17 to use it without a 21+ year old adult!
Magpies are gay
Actually, i think i might be wrong there, i did some reserch on www.metpolice.co.uk or summit like that! and it said that You can be 15 to have a FAC and a FAC rifle! is this true? I thorght it was 17 my self!
Aled_cky
i think it is 17... it would be easier and cheaper to just get a .22LR - Rimfire.. my dads handles like a beuty.. no recoil so light.. if you have a lot of land - farm it will be easy for you to get a FAC for a rifle.. if not got much land or no.. it will be almost impossible for you to get a Rifle.. as i have 150hectares and my dad foudn it hard to get 1 and that was 15years ago.. i would go for a rifle if you could.. as some of the others have said try and get closer to your quarry.. i find 12f/lbs is fine as i can take out rabbits at 50yards easy Aled
sharp_shooter
50yards? That sounds a little far for 12ftlb gun. I dont shoot anything over 35 yards. Use some skill and get close to the rabbits.
antwood2002
im using my s410 and its 12flb i cant use a proper bullet gun as there is a road behind the house so i have 2 use the air arms
Magpies are gay
Well, i dont know what you could do then! Maby if you had a spring gun! you could fit a .177 gas ram to it! (if its .22) that will make it more powerfull! But because you got the Air Arms s410 its gas so you cant!
Aled_cky
50yards is the 'proposed' killing range on a rabbit with 12 f/lbs i have got a Feral pigeon at 100yards many times.. rabbits usually 20-40y and anything else at whatever i can have it at. Aled_cky
aye.. pigeons locked in my Atcost shed when they after Barely.. had 300 last year with air gun.. and a pile of starlings at 100yards and house sparrows around 100yards. 100 is nothing ive seen a fox taken out with a .22 Rifle no scope at 250yards Aled
byhsu
you must be talking feet mate, not yards. You can't see a fox out to 250 yards with the naked eye. Unless you have the vision of an eagle.
Magpies are gay
Cool, so if your 15 and above you can have a FAC, according to that!
