steve_b_wales
I've got an Axion 30 thermal imager and have been wondering if there's any way I can 'attach' it to a scope to allow it to be used as a thermal scope. I've got a few ideas so far, and will be working on them soon. Has anyone else thought the same?
Rewulf
Some 5 years ago I had a similar idea for a cheap night vision scope, it never worked very well ! With thermal its only more complicated, and more disappointing . Theres a reason why a decent usable thermal scope costs many thousands of £s, and even then, again , disappointment awaits. Unless you have a specific need for sub 200 yard thermal shooting, I would stick with it for spotting, and use the cheaper, better ID capable digital NV scopes out there for the actual shooting. But.. if you must tinker...
Dougy
I think it would be rather difficult Steve, you cant mount it at the rear, it would pick up anything else but the scope, mounting it forward of the scope will create zero shift. It's just a 'thought' I have in my head. 31 minutes ago, Dougy said: I think it would be rather difficult Steve, you cant mount it at the rear, it would pick up anything else but the scope, mounting it forward of the scope will create zero shift. To be honest, I don't think it would work.
