Catamong
Hi Billy, Welcome to PW, fill in your profile and more people will talk to you. A few tips, take a rotary with a FULLY CHARGED battery and 2 dead birds, make sure you get them out of the freezer tonight, not tomorrow morning. If possible, have a look at the field today, study the flight lines of birds coming in to the field, are there any favoured feeding spots, or are they evenly spread all over the field..?? Try and decide now where you are going to site your hide, don't put it directly under a tree because the overhanging branches will restrict your field of fire, low hedges with 360 degree vision are ideal. Consider the position of the sun, try and get it behind you, so most of your shots are taken not looking directly into the sun. This all pre-supposes that there are birds currently feeding on the field, if not (but you hope there will be),then find something better to do with your time and come back another day when the number of feeding birds has built up. Good luck, let us all know how you get on. Cat.
invector
I've got four fields of bean stubble, cut two days ago, and there isn't a pigeon on them........YET!! Mind you they made a good job of cleaning up the crop when they harvested it. Hardly any loose beans on the ground. Billy1, You may find they get at the beans after they have been softened by rain, so keep watching.

charlie 1
it took a while for the pigeons to find the beans where i am but they found it eventually and i had an ok day over it. but i am finding that they just arn't decoying very well this year, they will come close enough but wil not decoy as well as they could have done. i have changed the pattern and this has happend all year so it might just be the amount of food and they have somewhere else to go. gd luck billy hope you have a good day when your next out there. charlie
