Which makes her right hand shotty just a little redundant. Instead of getting the stock bent on a starter gun, I'd rather bite the bullet and get her a proper LH gun, and fine tune the stock fit (done by a proper stockmaker/ gunsmith, not by me- before you ask.) Baldrick Posted September 8, 2007 Report Share Posted September 8, 2007 Beretta Silver Pigeon 20-bore, 28" fixed or multi-choke: there's nothing better, in my mind (I've got one in l/h, and my girlfriend has one in r/h). It's a supremely elegant, pointable little gun, and you should be able to pick up a decent example for a grand. I'm right-handed but left-eyed, and I shoot a r/h gun with a l/h cast, i.e. the opening mechanism is still r/h. If you want a true left-hand gun for a grand, you might have to shop around, but a Silver Pigeon is what I'd aim for if I was you. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

throdgrain Posted September 9, 2007 Report Share Posted September 9, 2007 I have a left handed Benelli M2, does everything asked of it, has jammed once in well over 5000 cartridges, its light, much lower recoil than a over/under, and just better in every way I can think of (imo that is of course ). Almost every lady I know that shoots regularly uses a 20-bore, and most of those twenties are Silver Pigeons. An O/U is much more versatile than a semi-auto, if you are likely to be doing any driven shooting, and no matter what the non-believers say, a 20-bore is a spectacular tool in the right hands. Guest The Outlaw Posted October 30, 2007 Report Share Posted October 30, 2007 The Cynergy Black Ice 12 bore is a good gun because it comes with a left/right or neutral cast on the adjustable comb thingy but a straight stock. My wife has one and shoots 24gram through it because it was a bit buckaroo for her. I have put 5 ounces of lead in the hollow stock and it has balanced it well, but she likes 24gs now so wont change. the last engineer Posted October 30, 2007 Report Share Posted October 30, 2007 i agree with the trend of a 20 gauge, but before you shell out a grand try an ulrika semi, my mrs is a lefty also, its light low recoil and adjustable in the stock for anyone, has to come in around the 550 quid mark im guessing there, its just over the $1000.00 here, multi choke and a good shooting platform what more will she want,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, gold plated PURDY ? Tried a proper left cast gun one season and had nothing but problems. Old dog new tricks sort of stuff. leeboy Posted November 2, 2007 Report Share Posted November 2, 2007 I'd go with a lefty Silver Pigeon or a Benelli Monte or M2 if an auto is on the cards. I would also go with the 12 bore and light loads. I'm not a fan of the 20, cant see any real reason to own one and if you own 12 bores as well there is always the possibility of accidents with the ammo unless you are extremely careful.
