markm
Booked to go skiing in Bulgaria in Feb 08 and were supposed to arrive at Plovdiv with a 1 1/2 hour drive to the resort, Tomsons have changed the arrival airport to sofia which is a 4+ hour drive to the resort but have not told us. We fly from Manchester because of the original arrival airport (which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from home) but the thing is I can fly from Newcastle to Sofia (15 minute drive from home) for the same price, no car parking charges etc etc. We have only booked the flights so we will not be supplied with transfers etc etc. Heard down the grape vine that Thomsons are not telling exisiting bookings for this reason. Only paid a deposit (£150) am I entitled to a refund.
al4x
I think it will depend on their T&C's but I'd sure as hell kick up a fuss if they were refusing. have you paid by credit card as this should give you more comeback. Chard
I used to be a travel agent and in those days, they would definitely have to refund you as that constitutes a "major change". If you've only booked the flights, you could say that Plovdiv was your intended destination rather than the resort, which makes their offer of Sofia even more useless, as you could argue that if you wanted to be in Sofia, you would have booked a flight to Sofia, not a hole-in-the-ground like Plovdiv. Good Luck, but you should get a refund
markm
not a hole-in-the-ground like Plovdiv. Your being very kind describing it as that, I would not even call it that. (Been there twice before)

me and my lad
we were delayed flying out of plovdiv once, got there at 6.00am, this was before the coffee bar had even started, stuck there for 4 hours !! its not that bad to get a taxi, lot quicker than a coach. our taxi back to sofia from pamps took just under 3 hours
