dustyfox
I say they should get off the strike and try and make as much money as possible before they do get made redundant. I remember when the post came early in the morning before I went to school but now it turns up at midday or later. They get paid alot more than me and I am a cival servant. I say get your mail by other companies sooner or later these posties will kick themselves in the backside and the royal mail will kick them off sooner than they think. JOKE Postman It was the postman's last day on the job after 35 years of carrying the post through all kinds of weather to the same neighborhood. When he arrived at the first house on his route, he was greeted by the whole family there, who congratulated him and sent him on his way with a big gift envelope. At the second house, they presented him with a box of fine cigars. The folks at the third house handed him a selection of terrific fishing lures. At the fourth house, he was met at the door by a strikingly beautiful woman in a revealing negligee. She took him by the hand, gently led him through the door (which she closed behind him), and led him up the stairs to the bedroom where she blew his mind with the most passionate love he had ever experienced. When he had had enough, they went downstairs, where she fixed him a giant breakfast: eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and freshly squeezed orange juice. When he was truly satisfied, she poured him a cup of steaming coffee. As she was pouring, he noticed a fiver sticking out from under the cup's bottom edge. "All this was just too wonderful for words," he said, "but what's the fiver for?" "Well," she said, "last night, I told my husband that today would be your last day, and that we should do something special for you. I asked him what to give you. He said, 'Screw him, give him a fiver.'" The lady smiled and said, "The breakfast was my idea."
myuserid
id say good luck to them,if they post my cheques early and on time.lazy swines lol Why they dont deserve a pay rise, in fact they dont deserve anything, half of my packages go missing or turn up several days late! I take you don`t have negoiate to get a pay then? I run my own imports & distribution business and employ 21 people, the reason why I'm against RM is because they mess everyone about hence the reason why I have switched, I just wish I had done so sooner. I recommend The DX so anyone else wanting another postal service use them, everything is tracked and insured and is guaranteed next day, no strikes nothing just great service. myuserid
HA Ha, what a cock up, just seen the ITV news, the postal workers are now starting to disagree about the union strike and some of them are going back to work tomorrow. Obviously have just realized what idiots they were and striking doesn't get you anywhere
death from below
I think the RM are just like most other large Govn ran organisation.....the vast majority of on the street work force are hard working and generally good people.....its the crass maangement and unions that screw it all up by not being able to hold a **** up in a brewery. The unions are as bad as that bunch of ####s who called the tube strikes afew weeks ago.......bunch of ***** especially that fat plonker Crow. Now let the nurses/police/firefighters go on strike.....now that would within hours bring the country to chaos......Thankfully the police aren't allowed to strike and even if their union(police federation) wanted the rank and file to strike, there was a grass roots poll done a while back and well over 90% of coppers stated they would never strike anyway no matter what. bring back Maggie to bust the union scum (and yes I know they also do a good job historically of getting better workers rights etc etc - I still think they are lefty numpties). Pigs nipples to 'em all.
Mungler
We use the DX at work. You could set your watch by the collection and delivery times and next day to anywhere in the UK is guaranteed. OH and it's cheaper than the post. Run by HAYES a private concern and growing by the day..... oh I wonder why. Hayes must be loving the self destruct of the postal service. al4x
The majority of mail I get is now delivered by UK Mail. This is in my opinion a warning to the postal industry that there is strong competition for the work that was previously protected from competition. They need to wake up and smell the coffee instead of holding their employer - AND THEIR CUSTOMERS to ransom. this is the fundamental issue they have at the moment. Your UK mail actually most of the time gets delivered by the postman. With private companies now having the right to undercut the royal mail despite the Royal mail doing the end delivery the system is on self destruct. The RM's most lucrative cutomers have moved to private companies at rates the RM aren't allowed to match and then they have to do the end delivery. No private company could run the service with full UK coverage and it is a very impressive service considering what a stamp costs. I've 500 envelopes sitting in the office next to me that will all be delivered on Monday throughout the country but the cost difference is £5.50 each to the customer rather than a stamp and this is fairly usual courier prices, so the strike is costing business a lot of money. Parcel force used to be loosing money but is now pretty profitable the same could be true for the RM but there would be some radical changes to be made and a big hike in postage costs. Hayes DX is ok but believe me its not without its faults I get complaints about it very regularly and end up sorting problems out for our customers that use them regularly
