royden
Saw a gun that i thought was a Browning A5 today in a local gunshop but on the side of the receiver was the name Pointer. It looked very similar if not identical to my own Browning but for the name . Anyone know what it is ?

Gunman
Not seen this but recall there was a Japanese made auto by Diawa that was identical in appearance .
B B
Several Browning A5 derivatives and Clone type guns were made , the Remington model 11 and savage model 720 were earlier options and the other companies built them during wartime too. The Japanese a5s were from KFC and SKB and Diawa and pointers were possibly a totally separate clone (unsure) , or a rebadged SKB or KFC. Other Japs produced the A5 miroku the A5 up to the end and other copies less well known are by singer and Nikko . What a icon the A5 is . in my opinion the first semi auto/ self loading, and arguably the best.
