Whilst not really a failure when the kids come they always ask for a pot of dads soup this month i was unabile to get the £1 soup packs of vegs in anysupermarkert so the wife got the cut up mixed packets and despite rinsing them well the soup turned out a dark colour almost peat like  move foreward another week same thing happened then i got a vegtable pack the soup colour was fine

Success was last year after taking grandson to a pumpkin patch daughter said dad could grow these for us , so after giving it a bash i had a good few pumpkins and tried to make pumpkin pie a success everybody seems to like it  got a container of puree in the fridge so i will be making more in three weeks before it turns then freezing puree it lasts 3 years in the freezer

( On most shoot days  ) the keepers wife feed us well at lunch time and we have no complaints , on one of the shoots last season me and the other two who pick up were a bit late getting back to lunch as we swept through the wood after the drive was finished , anyhow , when we arrived back the keepers wife said , do you want some soup John ? , yea I'll have a drop , when I was giving this mug of soup no way would you have got a drop out of the mug , it was virtually stuck to the mug , it was warm , thick as guts and when you did manage to get a bit out it tasted foul , I was pretty polite about it and said I am not really that keen on that , what sort is it , and the smiling young lady said Pumpkin , I think we would had been better off if she had put the whole Pumpkin without touching it into boiling water and we just had the water and dumped the Pumpkin :drinks:
