FFP vs SFP on 17HMR and .22LR?

I currently have an SFP scope on my .22LR and an FFP on my 17HMR.

I'm wondering if it would be a better set up the other way around due to the more significant ballistic curve on the .22? I very rarely use the HMR other than for close range foxing and the .22 is primarily for bunnies at varying distances.

Depends what the reticle is ... do you have a mildot / 22lr specific reticle?

The Hawke 22lr scopes with the notches are only accurate on a certain magnification.

If you only have a normal plex reticle or similar it won't matter.

At 22lr ranges I doubt it will make much different tbh.

Yeah, Ultrastu, that was my thinking as the mildot's the same regardless of mag. TBH, I tend to use holdovers based on bunny ears being about 3" 😄

When I’m hunting I’m with you, if it’s a little bit further out just raise the barrel and put the cross hairs on the top of its back. Same works for me with foxing. It’s just experience.
