Chaz25
You have a mk1 so steel valve body, the phase II is better as it has a steel and brass combination body plus two extra grub screws for the barrel rings (you find these on the left hand side along the main chassis barrel line) and a walther barrel if yours is all phase one then it wont have the extra mods, no matter still can be a very good gun just needs some finishing. There pretty strong tanks but a test is not a bad idea, plus with the steel body valve I'm not sure they have a burst disk( over pressure safety system)
scarecrow243
that age of gunpower does not have a safety burst disc as i said before you can get a replacement valve but you will have to watch the power output i have two valves that are non adjustable i use on my .25 f.a.c. and an adjustable top hat one on my storm 12ft1lbs .22 this would be the best valve too use if you could find one

A £35 Cricket regulator from AliExpress soon sorts that. Dead simple solution that Gunpower should have fitted from the off. They are a good gun despite Gunpower after sales. Just do it yourself and save all the hassle.

The solution as you also have already found out is the Cricket Regulator from AliExpress and a steal at £34+ tax with free delivery. There are perhaps hundreds of these unloved guns lying around in dark cupboards screaming out for a simple cheap regulator mod. They literally transform these guns. Superb Lothar Walther barrel and deadly accurate. Their reputation was ruined by very poor after sales and lack of knowledge. How they expected agun with no plenum chamber and no regulator to remain stable beats the hell out of me. Brilliant guns otherwise; a simple and sturdy DIY gun which can be set to any calibre simply by switching the barrel set.

It was 11.6ftlb and constant over 20 shots so left it at that. About the most effective and painless mod I ever made on an air rifle. I can't say they are really my cup of tea being a traditionalist but I was given the gun as scrap and my rather impressionable 9 year old grandson took a shine to it so he shoots it now and bloody good he is too. Mind you he took a shine to my old QB79 HPA Karbine, my .177 Ultra MMC, my .22 Ultra MMC, my Ultra .177 SE....et al. He's claimed three of them so far. 🤣🤣
