henry d
I`ve been having problems with IE, basically gifs won`t move in IE (but will in my pics) also I have to refresh the page more and more the longer I am on IE. I also have, just above the start button on the status bar, instead of the "e" I have a page icon with a yellow triangle and exclamation mark with the words"Done, but with errors on page." and if I double Left click it I get a box that Says"Problems with this web page may prevent it being displayed properly or functioning correctly....." and when I click on show details I get Line:3 Char:3 Error:Syntax error Code:0 URL:............. I don`t get this when I log on at work BTW. Any advice, apart from get on a computer course, greatfully accepted
Cranfield
I started having little problems with Internet Explorer, most were intermittent, which are the hardest to resolve. I gave up and downloaded Mozilla Firefox, it has made browsing faster and so far (fingers crossed), I haven't had any problems at all. henry d
So if I download it and use it I will have to set it as my default browser ? Anything else I will have to do ??
ChrisNicholls
You won't have to do anything else, the first time you open Firefox it will ask if you want it to be your default browser. I ditched IE long ago.

J@mes
have you had a good clear out recently? all temporary internet files, cookies?
henry d
I use EZ Armor/spyware doctor/windows defender/windows disc clean up/uniblue registry booster every week, so I think I`m OK, the only thing I don`t have a scooby about is cookies, as the last time I did anything like that I had to re-register everywhere so any ideas in the cookie area are welcome. J@mes
yep, deleting the cookies does mean you have to log back in everywhere, and it can be a pain if you havent had to put your password in for a few years - i cant remember half of mine! Not entirely sure it would help here anyway tbh. did you make sure animation was turned on in IE? *apparently* having it turned off can affect other browsers too. Pushkin
Henryd, try this free application http://www.lavasoft.com/index.php open this page and then cross to the right of the page and you will see a button for a free download. Download adaware and then update the settiings and do a full scan. It will tell you if there are any threats and how significant they are. it will aslo tell you what tracking cookies are linked onto your system. I normally just delete all these as they are not cookie links to pages as such, they are just parasites logging where you go etc. any problems let me know. leeboy
The Spyware doctor that henry is already using is about the best there is but the Adaware will find the tracking cookies. An even easier option is to download 'Ccleaner' its free. This will clear out all temp files etc and tidy everything up. It also gives you the option to save the cookies you want and clean the rest. It will also clear browsing history etc. I've been using it for a coupla years, its really good I'll see if I can find a link. http://www.ccleaner.com/ it updates regularly and overwrites securely.
