discobob Posted September 22, 2023 Report Share Posted September 22, 2023 In 87 I was down the Falkland working in JCUFI - which was Tri-Service. I was in the Signals then - well we got a chance to go and shoot the new SA-80. The Army Lads were like "yep, ok" and then bang bang bang The Air Force Lads went to have a go, with some fumbline and the Army Lads took a few steps backwards When it was the Navy Lads turn we were all running away as fast as could. In basic training in the RAF in 1989 it was still the SLR - TBH I don't recall when we swapped over - I think the next time I touched one would have been about 96 that being the SA80 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
