steve_b_wales
On Monday, I ordered 1000 Euro from Tesco (online) as they offered the best rate at that time and also offered free delivery. Soon after, I had an email from them stating that the money would be delivered by Royal Mail Special Delivery the next day, and had to be signed for. Well, nothing was delivered,(I was in bed after coming off a night shift, and my wife stayed in all day) and I had an email from Tesco that afternoon, who apologised, stating that Royal Mail had failed their end. They also said that the money 'should be delivered today'. I was in bed again today,(night shifts) and my wife stayed in again. At 12:30, she heard a noise from our letterbox, only to find that the money had been posted through it! If we were dishonest, we could easily claim that we have not received it. udderlyoffroad
Been standard procedure for Royal Mail since the pandemic. Am surprised sending cash via RM, regardless of tier of delivery, meets Tesco's risk/reward or acceptable loss threshold. I would suggest not giving them your business again Without wishing to pry into your financial arrangements, you should investigate the myriad of travel-friendly debit cards. Revolut, Monzo etc. Carrying large amounts of FOREX is unwise and frankly unnecessary in 2024.
