The hard drive on my Freesat box was corrupted, so I went out a bought a new Freesat Box (£220) and after advertising the original one for sale (as it still allowed programs to viewed) a mate of mine offered to buy it, but I gave it to him free of charge. He's just informed me that he's purchased a replacement drive (£16:00) but admitted that even he didn't know that they could be replaced. In all fairness to him, he's offered the box and new hard drive back, but I said for him to keep it. A reminder though that if your Freesat hard drive gets corrupted and won't save any recorded programs, then buy a new hard drive for it! It has ‘catch up’ but only the basics but not 4od due to licensing fall out. BBC is glitchy and unusable. It also only has Netflix. I don’t think updates have been forthcoming for a long time. I ideally need to retire it but due to no television signal I would need a freesat TV or a new freesat with an updated catch up I now think humax have moved into the freeview market. @steve_b_wales what freesat box do you have now. There was no name on the box but it was bought from Argos. It just had Freesat on the box. It's it's a 500gb 4K one. If you go onto Argos and type 'Freesat Box' it's the third one on show.
