myuserid
I've been looking for some new cartridges on the Just Cartridges site. On my shotgun it says on the barrels "use 70mm or 76mm cartridges only". How do I know what the length the carts are on the site, or is 70/76mm a standard length? henry d
It will say on the side of the box and usually the side of cartridge. What gun is it ??
codling99
standard carts are normally 65 mm or 70 mm . some semi autos dont like 65 mm.
myuserid
Its a Franchi Harrier Field, 12g, O/U. The Just Cartridges site doesn't say the length. My nearest gun room is either a 30 minute train journey (£9.50) and sneak them back. Or £15-20 in the car or £15 delivery with just cartridges. So I might as well order from JC's, less hassle. Just need to find the cartridge lengths, tried searching for the manufactures site but none of them seem to have one! If any of you know the length of the following, it would be appreciated: RIO Classic game Nobel Sport OK Game Fiber Saga Export All 30gms, no6 and fiber wad. Floating Chamber
standard carts are normally 65 mm or 70 mm . some semi autos dont like 65 mm. True! - but the Winchester Model 50 will cycle anything! Some autos like high brass, some autos don't; it's a funny world! You can actually have a cartridge, loaded into a shorter 67mm case that is only 'safe' in a 70mm chamber. It's all to do with dram equivalent. In the 60's, paper case Eley Grand Prix were printed as 'safe to use in 21/2" chambers' (65mm) but the actual crimp closure case was 23/4" (70mm) In those days, I had a Charles Partridge, double 12 - and when I fired the gun, the empties were 'coned' at the end where the crimp opened into the forcing cones. myuserid
A company has just offered me the following: Gamebore High Velocity 32g no.5 fibre wads which are £42.07p per 250. Are they worth it and will 5's be ok with pheasant?

JohnGalway
Could you not email the website and ask? Also suggest they put the cart size information up. After all it's your money.
