Can’t shoot what’s not there…..let the tractor activity die down then have a good look at it all again before deciding if/where to set up!
Heaving with pigeons here at the moment, watched a rape stubble I’ve had my eye on blue with pigeons earlier but family duties meant no go today. Will hit it tomorrow all being well (if it’s still there lol)!

Where abouts are you? Seems to have been more around this year than ever, could have shot lots more if I had the time!

Hello, I live in Abingdon and know the Vale well and around these parts there has been little sign of pigeon in such numbers as you have mentioned in your posts, going back to another thread reference Town Pigeons quite a weeks ago on my walk to the river before this hot weather and a real stormy evening i did notice flocks of pigeon going over to Culham woods, alas the owner never allows anyone shooting, good luck for tomorrow 👍

I worked on a large farm just outside Witney, over 20 years ago mind you and that area held a lot of pigeons, in the time I was there at least…..shot a couple of biggish days but again could have shot a lot more had I not been on a tractor seat seven days a week during the summer!
Haven’t shot as many 100 plus days here for some years, although that has also been down to the peas grown on certain farms this year which was a big draw for them early on.

Hello, In all my years pigeon shooting i have never managed even a 100 but then many years back i had no trouble giving away shot pigeon to people i knew same as rabbits, Peas takes me back to a farm that grew them for the local canning factory, the sky was just blue with pigeon, a sight to remember, !!!

That’s a shame you’ve not managed the 100, but there’s still time!
Had a quick look on the map and you’re not far away from where I was (Ducklington/Standlake area’s), you should take a drive out round there 👍🏼

Cropping is definitely a big part of what attracts numbers of pigeons to areas.
