I think it might have been wishful thinking in expecting , or hoping the insurance might bale then out , I had house insurance with Aviva and the only time I had tried to claim for a underground water leak then I was told I wasn't insured for accidental damage and had no help towards the cost , so with very little information from the op then the insurance route would never got past the first phone call . How do we know if the birds they put down were still around leading up to the shoot day ? , any sign of any going missing either by animal or by man , did they see the birds on the shoot day even though they didn't get any shooting ? , you can wright down reasons all night long but it would had been nice to had got answers before you even asked the questions . Never mind . All The Very Best For The New Year MM

They said it was "dilapidated". It may well have been but as the house was built in 1913 of course the slates although not all in a row were no longer like soldiers on parade. But they where all there and not letting water in. So I am now not with SAGA.

So I am now not with SAGA. I took house and contents combined from the day we moved into my bungalow which is coming up for 8 years , now I am wondering what I am insured for ? , when I was talking to the lady on the phone she asked me when my place was built , I don't know off hand but I told her around the 70s , she said if that was the case then your pipework might be to old and would need replacing , so they would have had me by the short and curlies , when it come up for renewal I will study the small print a lot more than I have done in the past . oldypigeonpopper
Hello, It sounds by the original post , maybe taking on more than can be done if the PW member is a single handed Game Keeper, We do not know on costs but with rent and buying Poults, Feed, Beaters , Picker Uppers, let alone the Keepers salary which seems a full time plus job , Syndicate members need to pay a fair price to cover costs but it takes a great deal of work to keep the Birds in one place, Putting a few thousand down and only getting small numbers on a shooting day you can understand the Guns sentiment but looking on the overall task in setting up a Game shoot as i mentioned if not working out can leave you in financial ruin Edited December 31, 2024 by oldypigeonpopper
