Shambam1962
A few months ago I was kindly sent 4 bottle stopper kits in the post by Old Boggy, to try out. I had seen them advertised previously, but I hadn’t got around to making one, until they arrived off Chris. Since that day, I have made numerous different styles, and my daughter asked if I could make her some for an upcoming craft show in our local village hall for Christmas. I have a piece of wood 4”x 2”drilled with holes, which I currently use to store the made stoppers, but my daughter has limited space on her stall table , and wanted something a bit nicer. I finally found the style she liked and had a piece of Sapele which I cut into circles and drilled holes to suit. The stand is roughly 7” in diameter and takes up very little space, and holds 12 bottle stoppers. I made the stand today, and most importantly, my daughter is pleased with it. I am in the process of making her a few different display boards and stands for the the stall, but she keeps coming with something else to make, between projects 😀👍

Old Boggy
That is absolutely brilliant Kevin. I do like the way you add those studs to the tops of the stoppers. Sets them off perfectly. I can spot the ones made from Zebrano, but what is the very dark wood at roughly 11 and 4 o’clock in the first photo ? They will all sell, I’m sure. Thanks Dave, but I can’t take credit for the design. The design idea was taken from YouTube.

Cheers Chris, I divided the circle and marked the lines with pencil and centre popped the points for the holes. All went well and I drilled a few holes, and annoyingly drilled a a hole off the mark, and noticed immediately. By then it was to late. I was going to be scrap it and start again, but decided to wait and see how it looked with the stoppers fitted. Luckily it looks okay, but I won’t make the same mistake again. The dark bottle stoppers are made from offcuts of Black Walnut, I had left over from the duck calls I made last year.

I have an assortment of tea light holders to make for her, so plenty of time before the 14th December show 👍 I had a few deliveries today of different tea light candle holders in glass and aluminium.
