I knew an old FC Ranger, now gone, who retired in 1994. When he first started as a ranger his first issued ‘deer gun’ was a Greener GP.

Fred retired in ‘94. He maybe became a ranger about 1954, so around three quarters of a Century after Rorke’s Drift. In those days he used to patrol his forest beat on a motorbike.
