Brooch identification

I have had this brooch for some time which was my Mum`s but think it could possibly be from her Mum.

It has the initials ASC , ACS, CAS, or other combinations of those letters.

Would anyone know what this represents please.

I`m thinking it may well be a women`s voluntary service or something similar, but am open to suggestions.

It`s also got the well known `Honi Soit qui Mal y Pense`  (evil to him who evil thinks)

Someone on here referred to an App whereby you could take a photo of something and it would be identified.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any replies.

That`s the one, but mine`s gold not silver.

It must therefore have been my Nan`s sweetheart brooch as a memento of my Grandad serving in WW1.

Thanks for the replies.

is it a sweetheart brooch ?....or part of military dress for the lapel ?

Hi Ditchie,

You are quite right, but I`d not heard of `sweetheart brooches` and had to google it.

Interesting though and something that can be kept to hand down through the family.

Many thanks,

OB
