steve_b_wales
I've just had a renewal quote from my insurance company (Swinton) which is due to expire 31/12/24. I did make a claim for a replacement windscreen, so I did expect the quote to be extra, but not £183 more! I went on a comparison website (Go Compare) who offer a refund of up to £250 excess, and managed to find a company (Aviva Zero) who quoted a policy of only £64:00 more than my existing one. It certainly pays to shop around.
oowee
Need to make sure it's fully comp rather than just comp. I see a few companies offering a basic comprehensive package to get you in.

When I went to look at the policy (the cheapest two in the list of offers) it did not cover driving other vehicles. This was only available on their fully comp cover which was an extra £30 or so. The two companies from memory were Churchill and LV.
8 shot
I also tried CG and MSM and yes the quote is cheaper but it's that day only as you get nearer renewal it go up dramatically, so paid for it today to secure the quote. My tesco quote ended up more expensive so stay with my original price

I double checked mine and I am written up to drive other vehicles (my wife's) and she, as a named driver on my policy, is also written up to drive mine. 7 hours ago, 8 shot said: I also tried CG and MSM and yes the quote is cheaper but it's that day only as you get nearer renewal it go up dramatically, so paid for it today to secure the quote.
