baikal boy Posted November 21, 2007 Report Share Posted November 21, 2007 i was very lucky in this department as i was born an bred in a caravan in me dads scrap yard and learned to drive from an early age by me dad and his mates letting me pull the wagons and pick ups on and off the weigh bridge great fun it was to. and when i passed my test he used to let me drive round in any car that came in which was near as damn scrap with like a month or 2 tax and mot still left on them he always had a number of these bangers in the yard which he used to sell on for 30 40 quid a time i drove around in a good old mixture of stuff like dolomites toledos tr7 spitfires mgs ladas opel mantas marina coupes all fords you could think of even pick ups vans bull nose bedfords bikes and mopeds just couldnt list all of them i was very lucky really they was great times. paddy. Omega estate 2.2 - loads of hassle - had a unfortunate accident with a telegraph pole - sort of my fault Current: Zafira 1.9 Diesel - nice car but causing grief with a faulty turbo although keep getting dealer b*******. I'm not from Essex, Calam is from Hackney You cant beat a Dagenham dustbin for doing up or a first car, well the old ones any way. Cheap parts, not to bad for rust, cheap to insure.
