KPV4
Ford Sale my Harrington & Richardson single barrel 410 - Topper Model 158 This lovely little single barrel 410 is in superb condition with barrel length of 28", hammer action and smooth cartridge ejector. The H&R 410 - Topper 158 Model was manufactured between 1967 & 1973 in Massachusetts USA. This gun has the front stock is secured by screw, dating it 1971 or before when H&R changed this to a clip mechanism. The gun is virtually unmarked, and possibly one of the best example out there, as can be seen in the photo's the barrel and action are unmarked and woodwork is virtually unmarked. This gun has been in my family since 1972/3 and in my possession for nearly 40 years. In that time I've not put a cartridge through it.! Time has come to to sell up, and this is the last of my guns to go before my license is due to be renewed mid 2025. I've seen very few of these for sale and those I have seen on the internet have been well used and still fetched good money, so if you are in the market for one in excellent condition and a piece of H&R history, look no further, this is the one for you. Looking for £180.00 Located in Mid Wales (LD1)

Scully
Stunning! You need to up the price considerably then advertise that on an American website, they’ll bite your arm off. KPV4
Cheers Scully.... If I'm honest wasn't sure where to put the price point, thought it might be worth a bit more, happy to take offers over £180... 🙂 Trying to sell into America might be too much hassle, I wouldn't even know how to go about it..... Fair enough, me neither. If you change your mind you could dip a toe via American shooting forums if you fancied it. There are a couple of Americans on this forum who I’m sure would be of help. Good luck with the sale whatever you decide. Edited December 30, 2024 by Scully

That’ll be a cracking little gun. 👍 Thanks - I actually also have a 10 gauge H&R Model 176 with a 36 inch barrel - that's more like a cannon though with 2 1/4 oz shells! I'm sure the .410 will be a bit lighter to shoot!
holloway
For anyone interested this was taken from a 1969 copy of Gun Digest .
Blackjack
Thanks Holloway - these were the budget all purpose shotguns of the day. In the US, the 410 is often referred to as the perfect squirrel gun. The 28 inch full choke barrel and 3" chamber help to get the shot a little higher up the tree with a meaningful pattern but without destroying the meal!
