.17 HMR

It's been many years since I use to own the above calibre rifle. I know there were issues at the time with cartridge cases splitting etc. I'm going to purchase a .17HMR in May/June once my renewal is back, but what make of ammunition is recommended now?

From previous experience i tried as many as were available to see which one was the most accurate. Very much like 22lr.

Pretty sure they are mainly made by the same company but have various brands etc printed on them. You most likely know but Hornaday 17 or 20gr seem to be most common but buy one box and try, if they are good go back and buy a shed load. Always found CCI pretty useless and I think they make .17's.

Mine would put all shots on a drawing pin at 100yds using Federal 17grn any others at best would shoot 1.5 inch
