Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
Don asked me post this photo of the high seat we use. We reinforced a pallet with extra timber in the slats that then bolted to the tree. Braced either side at the front too and you have a very secure and safe high seat for only a little hard work and a few materials most have to hand. Like most it is given an annual makeover and tidy up as well as safety inspection. Once it requires replacing it is easy peasy to unbolt it and reaffix a new one. This is our small flight pond, we shoot it once a fortnightish once a 1 gallon bucket of barley fed into the shallows is going every two days. This usually means around 15 - 25 birds are visiting the pond. Doing well so far and shot around 30 ducks so far.
Dead-Eyed Duck
I would recommend anyone with a shoot to build a high seat as it's the easiest way to shoot foxes in the spring and autumn when the crops are not too high. Bait 100 yards away on a regular basis, and after a week of the bait going sit in the tree hide and wait. Plus, whilst you are waiting for Charlie the wildlife that you can see is extraordinary. The hardest part is choosing the right tree in the right place - it took us weeks to decide on this one. Don
JohnGalway
Well done lads, something made from easy to get materials and very useful from the looks of them It doesn't look like there is but I hope there are no cattle in the high seat field, one cow takes to scratching her **** against those stays and it's good night highseat and shooters

I left my new company car in a field once and one muddy bullock used it as a scratching post. I was out with my sales manager the following day and he said "What the bloody hell caused that?", to which I nonchalantly replied "A cow". He weren't pleased at all. Had to be resprayed.
