Selling a Shottie via mail

It has to go RFD to RFD as your cert needs modifying as well.

Every time I've sold one face to face there's never been a reason for any amendment to my cert.

Yep - RFD to RFD - phone around, I got a whole host of quotes...same for receiving. Once when receiving a gun I paid nothing (Minsterley Ranges), all I had to do was buy some gear from the RFD as a token guesture! :good:

Your also right - when you sell a shotgun there is nothing to do on your cert, but the buyer will need his cert editing by the receiving RFD. However, you will need a letter from the RFD your sending it through to say that they have taken possesion of the gun etc. That letter is what you then need to send to your FLO with your cert to get it confirmed with the police records.

Hope that is clear, if not give me a shout. :good:

yep no need to send your ticket in, I believe you can put a line through the entry on your ticket yourself as obviously you no longer have it. You still have to inform plod though and I assume you inform them it has been passed onto the RFD that you have dealt with.
