steve_b_wales
It's based on the 627 model and is an excellent gun. It's good in the field for rough shooting and also for pigeon/crow. The wood on it may not be the best grade, but it's okay.
Guest The Outlaw
I see it has ported muzzles, I'm not sure but that could be a problem when shooing in some competitions. Nice looking gun though, I didnt notice how much ££ it was though? Tony
Cranfield
Can't really go wrong with a Baikal, they are very reliable and well finished for the money. I had one of the earlier models (30+ years ago) which were rather heavy and I eventually gave it to a nephew, who still uses it regularly. The engraving on it is excellent for such a priced gun. The models from the mid 70's onwards became much lighter.

tazkb
well got my russian cricket bat as my mate calls it blody snob spent an hour or so polishing the internals and i also shortened the ejector springs by 3 coils so now it doesn't throw spent hulls 20 feet put 100 shells through it on the clays today and i did rather well, it's still very tight so it will need a bit of loosening up but first impression is of a good solidly built (read tank like) gun, not too heavy and slightly barrel heavy all in all i think over time it will become a nice piece, ohh and the wood has a really nice pattern and better than i expected

tazkb
no not my first but the wife has nicked my bettinsoli so it's my only one at the moment, I paid £440 new and there isn't much else around for that even s/h at my local rfd's, it does shoot well a tad barrel heavy and a bit tight still but will loosen up over time.
