col s10
hi guys, ive been thinking about buying a paper log maker for my log burner.they only cost around a tenner.are they worth the bother ie soaking paper, the mess and soon.does anyone out there use one.cheers col
Oly
It isn't worth the soaking ect no. But there are ones out there that don't require soaking etc (see different types on fleabay). They are a good way of getting rid of paper whilst heating your home, but they will only last ~15 mins.
col s10
15 mins is not really long enough,do you speak from experiance
Oly
Speak from mates who have them - it's a good way to start a fire, and get rid of personal mail that you would otherwise have to shed. But not a substitute for real logs I'm afraid
col s10
sorry mate, i was on about the soaking of paper and all that stuff
Cranfield
I have a friend with one of those "paper soaking log machines", although thats not what he calls it. According to him its a waste of time, effort and money. We burn wooden logs, they are cheap enough by the 1 tonne bag load.

Col, no, sorry mate, those paper squashing log makers are terrible. I had one for a while but to be honest I'd have been better off burning it than what it produced.
