Today I saw about 200 -250 pigeons in a rape field. Twas about 2:30pm and I went straight home and got all the stuff I need, went back and was set up by just after 3:00. On the way to the spot where I wanted to shoot I put up all of these birds. Put out some deeks and ................. nothing came back!!!! Well , one pigeon shot past with about 150 mph and literally turned when it saw me ( about 15 yard off ). Wind was a good force 7 ( I used to sail so I can guess that pretty well). Packed up at 4:00 with nothing to show for. I think that is what they call ........... pigeon shooting? :good:

Aye, not so canny lad, at this time of year you need to be there at dawn to outwit the wily woody, if at all possible get some mates out to cover as many nearby rape fields as possible and you'll all get good sport, trouble is it all takes a lot of organising & commitment from all sides, if yer mates are too full oop on the Newcastle Broon Ale the night before, then you're stuffed..!! :good:
