Cranfield
I have been doing some spending with my Paypal account today. About 30 minutes ago I received a telephone call from Paypal asking me to confirm two transaction, they quoted the sums of money and the recipients. I confirmed that I had made those transactions and they thanked me and said that they were just carrying out routine checks on accounts which showed higher than usual activity in either volume of business, or sums spent. to ensure the account was being used by the right person. At no time was I asked for my account details, passwords, or any information that would have been of use to anybody. Quite reassuring. Lord Geordie
All you need worry about is if someone asks you for your 3 digit security code from the back of your card! Most rip off types already have all the other details but need the 3 digit code to USE your card!! Even if they recite ALL your card details and ask for the 3 digit security number to verify they have the right person etc hang up.
