remytherussell
Have seen good increase in pigeons feeding on barley in our area. They are flighting in from surrounding trees and sitting on telegraph wires over the field. Crop still appears to be standing, must be some flat bits for them to get down on. Want to shot it but dont want to trample the crop putting magnet out. any ideas. RTR
Cranfield
Don,t use the rotary device, use floaters instead. Walking up the tractor lines causes no problems, so you should be able to set them out OK. The weather forecast for Wednesday is suggesting high winds across the country, so some of your barley may be laying down soon.
eugene molloy
Remy, Cranners has it right. You may or may not want to take Fido; it's sad to leave birds in the standing crop, but the ole Mutt can do as much damage as our big boots can. If I can (and it aint often) I try to drop them somewhere I can pick up; next field, a track or road, in the wood, whatever. I hate leaving birds unpicked. Have fun. M ROBSON
We've started getting some really strong wind, its been wet for the last fortnight and a few barley fields are starting to flatten, but only a the Rooks are hitting them. We're still getting a lot of birds on Spring Rape, Turnips and Colli's. 208 were shot on spring rape yesterday. Mark.
