njc110381
I'm a bit stuck on whether or not to buy this gun. I've been told it cycles subs fine which was my main concern. It's relatively well used, but still looks tidy. It has a match trigger, hogue stock, stainless barrel, Parker Hale mod, 3-9x40 simmons scope and a spare mag. What (rough figure) would you pay for it? If the numbers come in near the asking price I may get it tomorrow! Cheers in advance for any help
OneEye
£250-ish, if the barrel's in good order. If it's been used as a pest control gun by a pro, the barrel's probably approaching the end of its life - pros only sell off guns when they've thrashed the life out of them as a rule. As a general rule, I buy new rifles and used shotguns. You couldn't do much better for a bolt gun than one of the CZs, about £250 new and then maybe another £200 for a good scope. Their varmint barrelled rifle was my first .22 and I still regret parting with it.
tulkyuk
I would say about the same -£250 but no more than that!!!
al4x
same here about £250 but really I don't think you need to worry about shooting the barrel out on a .22lr they go on nearly forever
Dirty Harry
My brother in law paid £500 for a 10/22 with stainless barrel and mod, simmons wtc 6.5-40x50 scope, laminate thumbhole stock and 3 mags. I think the action had been played with but I dont know what. It's in very good condition. I would pay £300 for that depending on condition. Oly
If it's tidy and it's what you want I would go to whatever you can afford really - to put a price on a custom rifle is very tricky. A good rule to work by is to price up what it would cost you to customise from new, then subtract a percentage that you believe fair for it's condition, rarity etc etc - typically at least 30%. luckytrigger
My 1022 has a hogue stock, modded trigger, lothar walther heavy match barrel and venom mod and it cost £400. Worth every penny.
njc110381
I've looked into it a bit and I think I'm going to leave it. They want £300 for it and it has quite a long (standard ruger) barrel on it which I would want chopped. I can get a new one from SYSS, same spec but with the already shortened barrel for £425!
