sussex lad
Took these 2 last night not a mile apart. The colour variation is huge, with the one on the left being proper fox colour and the right being very dark. Its the second dark one i've had this week, is it a winter coat? don't remember seeing them this dark before!!
JohnGalway
Myself and Conor were out one night, shot a pretty dark fox. He had been coming out of a block of forrestry to a dead lamb, was heading back into it after we disturbed him. I wonder does where they live, like in forrestry blocks compared to more natural landscape have a bearing on their colour?

Suffolk shooter
One on the left looks like its saying " Oh god not another picture, how many more times do I have to do this" SS
codling99
may be wrong, but think they only go cock eyed ,cos their being held by the scruff.pulls thier fur around eyes backwards a bit.could be wrong though.
Evil Elvis
I was shooting with bionicle on my farm once when I heard him let fly at something, i turned round just in time to see a completely charcoal grey fox run straight at me and past, I was so stunned to see it in this colour, i didnt even think about shooting it lol!! The whole thing was like the colour of the dark ones chest, back, head, every thing.
tikkamark
I have seen plenty of foxes with the dark chest but never any with full dark fur throughout its body,i have seen one or two with a lot of white patches like a fallow deer
