Hi

I would imagine it would be cheaper once you have all the gear and if you have the time.

Cartridge prices now around £180.00 a thousand for size 6 32gm load

Sparkie

I load 10 gauge, but not my 12 its cheaper to get factory loads, unless you want something different!

my powder is about #34 a kg cases are #30 for 50 then wads and overshot card primers etc, the mec re loader I got for #100 2nd hand, steel shot is not expensive but posting it is! use also need a good scales to weigh stuff out

I re use my shells about 4 times so that helps but last lot only did one fire as they got gas cut and are not as good as the Remingtons which I can no longer get, I rekon about #1 a cart for my 10 but I load what I want not what folk want to sell me! am on 5mm shot for geese (supa BB) and you cant buy that off the shop

# is my (GBP) key but i cant find out how to change it !

hope this helps

i have just started and this was my first attempt at buying stuff so i paid top wack

empty cases = free from clay ground

powder red dot 1/2kg = £24

wads gamebore = £10 for 500

lead shot No6 = £27 for 7 1/2 kg

now there are much cheaper ways of reloading but unless your really into it ( i'm only playing atm)

then i can't see the point as materials can be hard to source and expensive

I do it for a bit of fun and just game loads

ime getting a lee load all 2 soon can any one recomend a 34 gram recipe for game pleas

First of all, put the word out (Sporting Gun or 'Wanted' on PW) for some Nobel No. 82 powder. It has long been discontinued but there must be hundreds of tins about, gathering dust. Make sure it is 82! (I'll post a pic tomorrow of the powder and the can.)

Eley's 70mm recipe is: Mild primer. (Use a Cheddite Cx1000 primer)

27 grains (1.75 grams) of 82 powder (You could use Vectan A1 36; if so, Bordingl recommend 1.7 grams.)

Over powder card (3mm thick)

19mm 'Diana' fibre wad (may need shortening, depending on your pressure in seating it.)

34 grams of No. 6

This is equivalent to the old Eley 'Maximum' cartridge. (See pic below.)

The lower shell is one I've had since 1964; it's a paper shell. The other is a 1970's plastic case shell.
