Magpies are gay
Is a Pcp a lot less likely to loose zero??? Unless you knock the scope? Than a springer? Becuase some times when i find im out with my springer for a couple of hours...i check the zero and its shooting quite far off what i lined it up at, and i was extra careful not to touch the scope. Apart form zooming in-out. tHaNkS
lurcherboy
Yes Magpies. Its due to lack of recoil.
squintshot
Mag check the scope on your springer is rated for springers. Also is there is a (can't remember what it's called) a little grub screw on your mount that engages a hole in the dovetail to stop the mounts sliding back. Fisherman Mike
Yes the guys are spot on... Even the slightest bit of scope creep or deflection of the crosshairs on a less expensive non springer rated scope can cause a loss of zero after only a few shots. sharp_shooter
His scope is the Hawke pro-stalk 4-14x50 so yes it is springer rated. The stop pin is what stops scope creep on standard mounts, he has that aswell.
Wookie
I got the same thing when I was trying to zero my landlord's HW97k. Every time I thought I was getting close to zero, the thing started putting out flyers and the group shift. Drove me to distraction.. I was using a bench rest as well and I am by no means a **** shot. I blame the pellets he was using... Bisley Pest Control are fine for shooting at less than 20 metres, but rubbish after that. Magpies are gay
Wookie. I dont have that problem, and i have the same gun as you, i get just less that 1/2 " groups at 30yards with it, using Logun Penetrator pellets, its just when i go up to my wood, i shoot a few things walking around the edge rabbits and things, and then when i come to hideing for squirrils and the odd pigeon i take a test shot and the zero is well out. Magpies are gay
lol,no why does that matter? It has a fixed barrel...it might change it for a float barrel.........Mabye it changes becase of the recoil...
Wookie
May fave way to knock the zero out is to ding the silencer on my landlord's car as I walk past. I have now taken to putting my hand on the barrel as I walk past with the rifle over my shoulder. Wookie
