jimdfish
I have enjoyed River Cottage and a cook on the wild side and the one where he was on the boat. It has been the only programme on telly for what seems like years to show proper country sports and country living. Does anyone know if Hugh ( first name terms now ) is planning to make a new series? Apart from the slightly dodgy shooting of pigeons off of a roof on his landlords shed he can do no wrong in my eyes. I have scanned the net but only get adverts for his cookbook. jimDfish P.S I am not gay but I do love Hugh :*)
Lurch
Given that the last series was just a review of those gone before, I very much doubt we will see another River Cottage. Hugh now has his own small holding (he only had a share in River Cottage) so you can be sure even if we see something similar it won't be at River Cottage. squintshot
I really think Hugh Fernly Whatisname Could have done a bit better for himself, I mean good on him for his promotion of country life. When you consider his class mates at university included the likes of Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie and Boris Johnston. Well you see a amn with his intelect could be running the country and a far better job I feel he could do than our current Prime Minister. A side note Tony Blair must have a bit of a complex about his wife earning far more then him and he's taking out on us! Squint
jimdfish
If he was running the country He would not be making bloody good TV and on principle I would not like him. Go Hugh jimDfish
Wookie
My wife thinks he's great, as do I. Her reason i that he has got me doing some of the cooking... My reason is that it gives me an excuse to bring in dead animals and then eat them in new ways. I've not tried squirrel yet (I hate the little ******** too much to eat them) but rabbit is now a staple, as is pigeon. Seeing as pheasant season is soon approaching too..... Wookie p.s. I hope he makes a series based on his latest book. I've read the bits they put in the Telegraph and it's now on my pressie list.

You mean the Meat book? I got that the other week, amazing just how much can be written about meat - and how it is still interesting. I find it amusing how the supermarkets have piles of his book next to their meat counters, but Hugh spends quite sometime blasting supermarket meat. I can only assume the supermarket honchos haven't read it!
Ears
I quite like him too, and its good TV. But did ya see him climbing about in them trees after them young rooks, bloody fool he should have took his mate up there and blasted em. Wookie
To be honest, he did say that there are two ways of getting rooks down from those trees. I think that he chose the more TV friendly one! The meat book looks really good. I've actually managed to get the wife to eat (and enjoy) rabbit because of the "Cook Book". Hopefully, the Meat Book will get my landlord to let me put sheep on one of his fields. We've got 15 or so acres and only five horses now, so we have a couple of spare fields... Always fancied being a smallholder... Wookie
