Dunkield
Anyone on here have a contact that will supply a lump of laminate? Ideally I am after a piece big enough to make a rifle stock, in grey.

Dunkield
Thanks for the link Graham, but as some of you may or may not know or remember, I have had the Richards Microfit experience, there is write up of it in the DIY section somewhere. Lead time used to be quoted at 8 weeks for anything non- standard, in American speak that means anything that isn't a remmy. Actual lead time for my last stock was nearer 5 months and then it turned up with huge knot through it - and cracked. I complained, and in all fairness they did ship me another stock as soon as they could FOC, but I got charged tax on that so it wasn't completely free, it turned up a month or so later. These days they are busier than they were then, it is vitually impossible to get through on the phone and they don't answer email enquiries, I understand lead times are now even longer than they were before So, you may now understand why I am trying to find an alternative method of getting hold of a laminate stock. Having said all that I am going to try once more to get hold of them again tonight, I may take a handfull of prozac first though... What really annoys me is people with a small sized business that wants to be a medium sized business and they are just strangling it for the sake of employing a handfull of staff -madness. Dunkield
This could turn into a blog So I waited by the phone yesterday afternoon, called RMS at 08:59 their time, recorded message "we are closed, call back after 9am" Called back at 09:01, recored message "all lines are busy, voicemail box is full, please call back later - afternoons are better" You can Fax and order, but there so much to discuss in terms of options I can't see how that can sensibly work, and if they call me back in the afternoon it will be in the middle of the night our time. This isn't a RMS bashing thread, it is just so people who recommend their products know difficult they are to deal with. I would still like another one of their stocks, but not at any price. . . Dunkield
Right then. Just got through on the phone. Stock on order, quoted 3-4 months for non-standard inletting. All I need to do now is forget about it, that way it will come round quicker. I'll start chasing in June
