Dave-G
My 2007 expires today and I've given up trying to renew it via Symantec as their card processer dont seem to like my access card, nor my Visa. Anyway, I bought one online for £26 but it'll take about 5 days to get here - so does NIS 2007 still work with the updates it has or will it simply cease to do anything? I know some of you - (well pin at least ) hates Norton but the 2008 version is supposed to be a lot lighter on system drag and to be fair it has never let me down since I started paying for it. BSA Shaun
Download AVG for free and use this for 5 days mate Just make sure you turn the system scan down from every day to a reasonable period IIRC Norton will say product needs re-registering and will not update. ironhorse
You must remove Norton before installing any other antivirus system, or they will conflict. Your Norton will continue to run with its existing data base but will ask to renew or update.
BSA Shaun
Forgot about that, and norton is an ****** to uninstall! Edited February 7, 2008 by BSA Shaun
ironhorse
Yes you’re quite right it can be, go to control panel and add and remove, there are other ways to remove all of Norton, but if you’re not used to using the registry you will need step by step help
BSA Shaun
indeed, the add/remove programs does not remove it all! Use this afterwards: http://www.zandt.net/nonav9.zip

Dave-G
Thanks chaps - I've basically been advised that it will work with all it's features and but just won't protect against any new virus discovered after it's expiry. So I'll leave it on till I get the new one thanks.
dazzyboi
McAffee all the way, I find norton too bloated, keep it simple. Edited February 7, 2008 by dazzyboi
pin
Chap who I hired about two years ago came from McAfee. Brilliant, excellent, full of praise for his ex-company. They just need to sort out their installer and the management application - my opinion they have the best AV engine on the market, I'd know I paid handsomely for his services
