bunnybasher07
Today me, my dad n lewis were out shooting about our local shoot... pigeons crows etc.. but there was nothing moving so we went to the clays and i fired about half a box through my gun and i was hitting allot of them then the gun wouldnt shut ! its as if the mechanism isnt catching the barrels i am annoyed because its a really good and reliable shotgun which i have shot loads of vermin and phesants with. I am askin if this has happend with anyone? its a spanish eibar 12 gauge. Cheers GM Edited February 11, 2008 by bunnybasher07

bunnybasher07
its not fixing its self at all ave been trying (not.. fixing it, opening and shutting it constantly to see if it will catch .. but it wont ) i am worring about how much it will cost if i put it into a gunsmiths i just thought it was something stupid that could be fixed but it looks like it cant. silver_fox
Have you tried pushing the 'barrell opening lever' (Alzheimers has set in and i can't remember the correct terminology) fully to the right?
Lord Geordie
If I was any closer I would have taken a look for you Does this occur WITH carts in or without or even both? have you checked under the barrels for obstructions? Has the top lever release pin broke and stuck out? This is quite common. are the extractors protruding too far perhaps jammed? There are numerous causes and possibilities. bunnybasher07
well it isnt the carts because my dad and bro were shooting away all day and my bro has the "female" version of my gun (mine is victor and his is princess so it cant be the carts) its the lever i push to the right to open the gun, it has no force acting against it (if you get me) to lock the barrels into the stock ... yet again, if you get me thanks for the gesture Lord Geordie and to answer your questions. It occurs with both cartrages in and out and the self ejectors work. I have checked every piece of the gun and there is no obstructions . and Nope nothing is sticking out . i think it it the lever spring or something because it feels like something like that Cheers GM
