lowlander
after a few weeks of persauding my dad to let me have a kestrel he has given in . so i was just wondering do you need a license to keep one (someone told me you did but someone told me ytou didn't)
Piebob
You do not need a license but my understanding is that all native birds should be registered, so make sure this is the case before you buy. But why do you want a Kestrel? What are you going to do with it? Who will be "mentoring" you? A Kestrel isn't a recommended first bird. Have a look here http://www.britishfalconersclub.co.uk/index.htm Edited February 22, 2008 by Piebob

Ferret Master
I don't wish to sound rude but a bird of prey is a huge commitment and by the sound of things you don't know that much about keeping them. I suggest you spend a fair bit of time reading up on them first and if possible spend some time with someone who has their own aviary to learn more about keeping them.
