beatingisbest
If you dont know i would say not to apply IMO, I would only apply when i knew almost everything about it, after all you dont want to appear ignorant about the law to the FEO when you have your interview do you. gibby
You can get a FAC at the age of 14 but cannot purchase any rifle or ammunition until your 17th birthday, and for which you have permission and available slots to purchase. This is from the home office "7.17 It follows from what is said in the previous paragraph that a firearm certificate may not be granted to a person between the ages of fourteen and seventeen to allow them to purchase or hire firearms or ammunition. A certificate can be granted authorising possession, as well as acquisition in other ways (for example by borrowing or by receiving as a gift)." If you had good reason for a rifle between the age of 14 and 17 and wanted one, it would have to be given to you from a FAC holder, you have to have the available slot on your licence to receive it, and if buying from the shop they would also need the available slot to go from their licence to your licence. Ammo would still need to be given to you as a gift. Hope there's some sense there. Gibby
