My FAC went in for ammendments today

I finally got around to sorting out all my notes for my FAC to go back in. I've asked for .223 to be added, and have put in my letter requesting an open ticket. The letter from my mentor went with it, explaining that I've reached the point where I no longer need to be accompanied and I am a good judge of ground. After the last experience, I wonder how long it will be until it's back? Hopefully it will be soon, although I've got about 800 rounds in stock just in case :)

Open or not, we'll just have to wait and see!

Thanks :)

I have had one thought that's really bugging me. I forgot to write +mod on the .223! I'll phone them Monday and sort it, hopefully a phone call will be enough to ammend the paperwork? Either that or I could use the 6.5x55 mod on it? What are the rules on that?

nothing to stop rifles sharing legally held mods mate.

Good luck Nick

You should be OK with a phone call amendment to your variation, well mine have been no trouble but as you know they are all different.

I share a mod on some of my rifles and my fac is worded accordingly along the lines of "the abc rifle, the def rifle and the xyz rifle together with the reflex c/f sound moderator, the xxx rifle and xxx sound moderator and zzz rifle and zzz sound moderator shall be used etc"

Which .223 are you going for

I'm not buying one yet, I can't afford to! When I get some money together I've got a few I like. I'm pretty open to ideas, as I've only got info on what I was looking at when I went for my 6.5. I'd like a varmint barrel. I may get a CZ, for the money they're pretty good IMO. I'm certainly happy with my 452 :)

The Remington 700 looks fantastic VFM, and is very accurate so im told.

My 14 year old nephew has a Remmington 700 with a heavy barrel and a big mod on the end. It's no louder than the HMR. Shoots tight groups and seems reliable with the right ammo.

He got a deal with the gun, scope, mod, sling and case but cant remember how much. From Bredon Hill Neil. Worth a look.
