Looking at my monthly outgoings I feel a need to change at present I have AOL/Sky family/ BT Phone I understand combination packages are available and would be interested on the PW members views good or bad as to what is out there.

Sky offer Surf/speak/watch and if I could get them to answer the phone I could learn more!

My question is what do you have and is it any good?

I have been with Virgin Media since July 2007. I pay only £20 for a basic TV package, 2Meg Broadband with Unlimited downloads, and a phone (line rental is included and calls to other UK landlines are free at all time, not just eve or weekends).

Broadband with 2Meg works fine for me, they supply the TV box, and the installation was also free. The customer services is not the best but has improved a lot since virgin took over.

But there are websites, (I think on www.moneysavingexpert.com) where you can check and compare different broadband deals available in your road. Compare them all, and also compare the deal I have as above, and then decide which one will save you more money (without a catch).

I'm with Virgin and Telewest before that.

I pay £50 per month.

This includes my landline phone with free weekend calls.

2mb unlimited broadband.

The middle tv backage with about 70 chanels.

2 mobile phones with 300 minutes and 300 texts per month that rollover if you dont use them.

£10 for each item I think is quite good.

Hey BSA_Shaun,

Thats a cracking deal mate. I know Virgin does offer different prices to different custimers if you haggle with them. But how did you manage that good price with them?

Are you on ADSL phone line internet by any chance? or are you in a standard cable area?

ADSL indeed mate.

Dont usually get 8Mb connection to be fair, but as they say its up to 8Mb! But get around 2Mb which is plenty for me.

It was just the offer they were doing at the time, left SKY over it.

A colleague at work also has pretty much the same package, got his about 3 weeks ago.

Up to 8Mb broadband (ADSL)

Free evening and weekend calls

£9.99!

Yeh I thought there must have been a difference. Mine (internet) is on pure coax cable which has a lot more bandwidth than the phone line usually. Although I also dont get the full bandwidth sometimes, but there are other "fixes" that can be applied to "adjust" the speed when you are on a coax cable internet :good:

So overall £20 if you want coax internet, basic channel set, and a phone line with free all day UK landline calls is still what I would personally recommend if you live in a cable area served by a coax cable. But if you dont live in a coax cable area, then I think the deal you have is still probably the best one around.

Just found out sky cant help as they say my phone exchange is "closed" not sure what that means,,,, they have quoted £209 for me to upgrage to sky plus on my family package (24.99) and no extra monthly payment

AOL have said they can reduce my montly charge from £17.99 to £9.99 just like that for the same download i have now! not sure if we have Virgin Broadband deals in our area but about to find out

I have the Sky package. It does save me about £30 pm on having seperate providors. The phone and broadband seem a good deal,so does the tv except to upgrade the Sky box to Sky + is pricey which is my major beef with them. Am looking to go over to Virgin as could do with sky+ type facilities. Big advantage to having all in one package .
