I seem to remember a old farmer telling me that they used to smoke Colts Foot when tobacco was in short supply. They would dry it out then rubb it into a ball and smoke it in a pipe. Never tried it myself but he recond it wasnt half bad. Its called dan derebol in welsh. You would recognise it as the rubarb type leaves that grow along the side of rivers in shady spots.

As a pipe smoker of many years I must have tried many types

of tabacco and substitutes. Dried clover was popular just the heads

laced with honey and shreaded apple peel it must be kept cool and

compressed for a few days and smoked semi damp.

I think the best value pipe fodder is the Craven range it smokes

well and is cheap.

I like Big Angus,es recipe for dried banana skins I wonder if he was

the ****** who set fire to my bed at aldershot with just such a

concoction I got 6 days jankers

Ho happy days
