rlewis Posted April 24, 2008 Report Share Posted April 24, 2008 Went decoying on saturday and i loved it.My uncle has been going every day to look at the flight line, but when we got there we saw about 300 birds down the other and of the filed so we had to go down there .Iam only 14 years old and justed got my 1st shotgun (lanber i no it is rubbish but it can take birds down). Only every shot twice before and that is at clays. I got 16 and lost two but my uncle got loads hee only missed 1 out of 63 The only bad thing was that they was coming over our heads and you could not see them until really late.We are going this saturday i think iam addivtive to it now i think iam going to be a pigeon shooter Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Often its the birds you have to take quick shots at that you hit, the ones you have loads of time on are the ones you miss. There are worse things you could become than a pigeon shooter. I shoot with a mate who has used one for years he paid £100 and very rarely misses. Stick with it and you will soon be bringing down more birds than your uncle. Don't think there is such a thing as average.... depends on your area as well as the fact there are an awfull lot of variables... food, weather, shooting pressure and your own abillity. Just enjoy each day you go, allways try to learn something , watch nature at work and try to blend in with it...two birds at the end of a hard day are every bit as rewarding as fifty taken easily..... forget the big numbers, they will happen evetually .... just enjoy your shooting. Well done on your shooting, great feeling isn't it..... stick with your Lanber untill you feel it no longer suits you, not alot wrong with that gun ! Depends on where you shoot, how much time you put in watching the fields, what kit you use, how good a shot you are ....the list is endless.
