Good day on peas.

I have been watching a pea field for a week , and the numbers have been steadily growing especially in the late afternoon.

So i had a day off today , and i was in the hide by 1pm , with 10 flock coated shells in front of me.

It was a slow start , i had 6 by 3pm , but i knew things would pick up . The conditions were good , wind at my back and not a cloud in the sky. Between 5 and 6.30pm , the pigeons decoyed well , straight into the killing area , so i had a few left and rights. Any birds that fell into the corn behind were picked by my cocker. So i packed up at 7 pm with 76 in the bag , and as i was driving off they were still wanting in.

I had my camera phone so when i get time i'll post them in sporting pictures.

I dropped a few off at my uncles cottage yesterday afternoon for him to put in his freezers and he said that he'd seen nothing worth shooting for weeks now :) , some guys he knew had travelled about 100 miles on friday to check all the drillings and pea fields to find nothing :good: . Thats where my job comes into it's own being a skip lorry driver gets you around the local area of about a 20 mile radius and the farmers/landowners I meet is brilliant for gaining permission :) .so you did well there to get your bag, I've got my eye on some peas but they just dont seem to be building up to any numbers on them???

Thanks Phil
