Kaedyn
just wondering, i'm about to send off my license but was thinking i should actually get a gun cabinet first. Does it matter at the moment, if I dont have a gun. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. K
Andy_B
I had my cabinet fitted prior to interview, but had already taken advice from dad and bro on where and how it should be fixed...if you are unsure of where to put it i would take some advice from your firearms inspector when he comes to visit you...can advice on the best location in your house.. WGD
State on your application that your gun will be kept at your home address in a secure gun cabinet in a location to be agreed with your firearms officer. You don't need a cabinet before you apply, you don't even need a cabinet to hold a SGC - you only need a cabinet if you buy a gun to put in it. Kaedyn
thanks out of curiousity, if i get my SGC, and a month later get a gun, how would they know that i am actually keeping it my gun cabinet and not under my bed. That is why i was thinking that i need to get the cabinet first.

paul1966
if a cabinet is not fitted at the time of application i was under the impression that the FEO comes back to inspect the fitted cabinet at a latter date. i may be wrong but that's why had mine installed before he came to speed up the application. 2shots
if your confident with the application I would put a cabinet in now, as my mate waited 3 weeks for his first visit and 8 weeks for another the fo came back and then made him put locks on all his windows that he never mentioned the first or 2nd time. Then it took another 3 weeks and another check so nearly 31/2 months later before he was sorted. THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Buy now & don't forget the bolts. Fitted will prevent the second visit, if not fitted you may get away with it if in the room ready with bolts & big drill bit. No one ever never ever will know where the cab' keys are or will be able to gain access to them, never. No one but yourself.
