Trussman
What would you say is a good camouflage pattern to wear on the foreshore early on in the season when the foliage is greener?

Trussman
I think I'll give DPM or Flecktarn a try. It's just the black puts me off a bit.
bob300w
Have to agree with the earlier post, keep still and you won't be seen, whatever you are wearing. Think about it, there are all sorts and colours of rubbish on the shore-line birds do not shy away from them, it's the same in the fields, multi-coloured fertiliser bags do not cause birds to fly around them at distance, for the simple reason that they are not moving. There was an article in one of the sporting mags a few years back, where a hide for pigeon shooting was made from the orange plastic material used by road-workers to put around holes in the road, the results were no different to when cammo was used. Trussman
I rather like the look of flecktarn and I'll give this a go. Thanks for the help
henry d
I presume you are in reed beds or saltmarsh rather than on the mudflats ??
Trussman
I'm not currently a member of a club, but I'm thinking of taking it up some time in the future. I just needed some advice on good camo patterns. Best regards Trussman P.S. Henry, is 9000 posts a record? henry d
If you are out on the mud then waxed cotton (barbour etc.) is the best stuff as it blends in naturally, if not DPM in the early season and lighter stuff for the saltmarsh/ reeds. "P.S. Henry, is 9000 posts a record? " - Nah, there`s 2 guys 1k and 4k ahead of me.......but obviously mine are all just babble

MC
As others have said, the pattern makes know difference, just keep low and still until the birds are in range. Most of the birds around here move so fast they never see you, and half the time you don't see them.
