weejase
Hi guys, I`m currently looking for a decent semi auto I had my mind set on a hatsan escort as I have heard good reviews about them. I just got a call from the owner of my local clay`s club and she has a franchi prestige for sale. It was taken as a part exchange trade In from one of her other customers and she said It looks brand new. It has an extended choke, 2 3/4 semi magnum, special yyy choking and a 32" barrel from the trigger. As I said the gun Is brand new looking and all the wood looks mint. The price Is £300 and I also get some shells chucked In Is this a good deal or should I hold out for a escort cheers jase.

Gordon R
It's one of the older Franchis. I have had their older autos - not top flight. New Raptors seem okay. I would avoid it - too dear for the model - £200 a bit more realistic.

weejase
cheers guys, I have now been offered the gun for £200. It Is an old model but I am assured the gun Is new. I do prefer the hatsan but as I will only be using the gun for pigeons and crows Is the franchi worth It? I have a 20 bore zoli just now but will be purchasing a 12 bore o/u for driven shoots and clays. sorry for being a bellend but I`m new to guns and shooting jase. Ice
Hang out for the escort pal, honestly........ What you are getting is what i call "motivated", basically if i can spot a motivated buyer, i could sell them anything at any price..... Wait for the Escort pal, it will be worth it i prommiss you

reedbradshaw
i keep thinking of the escort but i get the feeling it is built to a price....i think im going to hold out for a decent o/u but i suppose if i was offered the hatsan at the right price i wouldnt be able to resist due to all the good reviews from owners on here !! weejase
With the o/u you can use It In any shooting scenario whereas with the semi auto you will limit your options o/u first then when you get a bit of practice get a semi. I have a 20g o/u and next will be a 12g semi auto or a 12g o/u. Eventually I will have all 3 In my cabinet jase.
